The Clique Summer Collection (Massie)

Okay, so I just finished the Dylan Clique book two days ago. It was pretty good. Yesterday I started Massie. Massie is like a leader that doesn't get let down, and doesn't always play the game fairly. Massie has just recently got kicked out of her camp that she has been going to for six years. She is so angry, but she quickly revises herself. She is now a cosmetic girl because her parents made her get a job to pay back the horse riding camp. Her parents are like the richest people in town, so Massie doesn't see why she has to. She is such a spoiled little brat, but she is becoming nice. I wish her luck on her jobby- a job that is a hobby. I also hope that she learns her lesson.

I was a little angry when Massie gluing her horse team-mate to her saddle. I was thinking right then and there that she would get in BIG trouble, and she did. The judges thought something was a little suspicious with Selma because no-one had ever ridden side-saddle before. After Selma was done with her turn of riding, one of the judges came over to the barn to check out the team's reaction. The Galwaugh Goddesses were so happy that Selma stayed on the saddle because she is such a horrible rider. Massie did this all just so she could get on the cover of the Horse & Rider magazine. She is such a brat. Massie cried with her horse, and left her "gross" little clothes there. I guess she isn't getting them back!

I was also a bit confused was when Massie got back because her dad was being so nice to her. Her mom yelled at her right away, and she definitely lay down the law. Her dad just played sweetie with her until her parents came in the next morning in her room. When they came in they told her that they had signed her up for a job at the country club, but Massie did not like that idea. Then she protested, and begged her parents to pick her own job. Her parents finally said yes, and she had to find one in five days.

I am sick of Massie! Massie keeps talking about her horse camp to other people, and lied about what really happened. I was sick of it because you shouldn't lie about something, and she kept talking to people about it. One time she even said that she left to someone because she was sick of it. That one did not shock me there because she is such a dirty, little brat. It was a good idea of her parents to make her work because her attitude definitely is shaping up.

The one part I really enjoyed was when Massie went online to order a ton of clothes, and then all of a sudden when she entered her credit card... it said DENIED! Okay, so she didn't freak quite yet. She then entered her AmEx card... DENIED, her Visa... DENIED, her MasterCard... DENIED, and finally her last golden chase card... DENIED! Now Massie could freak. Did her parents cancel her credit cards? Yes, but why? Massie needed to now right away. When she found her parents they said she had to pay the them back the money for her camp, and then they would un-cancel her cards. Massie was like a HOT pina Colada on a summer day. Not fun! Pina Coladas' are supposed to be cold.

I found myself flipping ahead when Massie held her BePretty cosmetics party. She invited EVERY despicable beauty insult in town. She met every single one of them to tell them what they needed, and how they should use the cosmetics. She went row by row, and next by next, until it was over. She was then exhausted. She was now the top sales person of BePretty cosmetics ever. The next day she received a visit by the owner, and was told that she could take a few days off to work on some commercial for her dog, Bean. Did I mention the owner dropped purple glitter from her helicopter when she landed? I guess not, but you better believe it!

I liked Dylan's book a lot over all. Massie will be pretty good, but I think I liked Dylan better though. I definitely recommend them. My next book will be The Clique. Check out my blog for new posts about my current book.

Well, it looks like I am going to finish Massie tonight! Wow, long post.

Bye!

  1. Hey Caroline!!
I have read many of the Clique books but not the summer collection. But when I do, I really think I will like them because they are so short and I like short books. To me, the books are so good because they are so funny! Nobody I know has a million credit cards and over reacts when they are cancelled for a short bit of time. She seems so mean and I'm kinda glad I don't know her in real life. She treats the rest of her clique like trash and they just go along with it. (It seems like they have to though.) Anyway, when you finish the summer collection, you should really read the original clique books. They are ah-mazing - Massie would say that :) The books are a bit longer but are totally worth it. I really like how Lisi Harrison writes because she is really good at describing how rich Massie is and their really nice school and personal drivers. She makes everything convincing, you feel like you are in Massie, Dylan, Claire, Alicia or Kristin's shoes.Keep reading they get better and better as you go along!
    Bye!
